Hi, I'm Megan Grimsley, M.S., CCC-SLP, founder of Confident Communicators Speech Therapy!
I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with over a decade of experience helping individuals develop the communication skills they need to thrive. My journey began in upstate New York, where I earned my bachelor's degree from Ithaca College and my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Syracuse University.
From 2013 to 2017, I worked primarily with adults in medical settings throughout New York and Ohio, helping individuals recover and maintain communication and swallowing skills following illness, injury, or neurological changes. In 2017, my husband and I relocated to Georgia, where I transitioned fully into pediatric speech-language pathology and I haven't looked back since!
Over the past 9 years, I have served children and families throughout the Atlanta area in both school-based and private practice settings. For 3 years I worked as a speech-language pathologist within the DeKalb County School District. Then, I was fortunate enough to spend more than seven years learning and growing under the mentorship of Leslie Levine at Leslie Levine & Associates. These experiences allowed me to support children with a wide range of communication, feeding, and developmental needs while collaborating closely with families, teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other professionals.
Through my work in schools, homes, clinics, and community settings, I have developed a strong belief that every child deserves to be understood and that communication can take many forms. Whether a child communicates through spoken words, gestures, signs, or AAC, my goal is to help them build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections with the people around them.
At Confident Communicators Speech Therapy, I provide individualized speech, language, feeding, and AAC services in children's natural environments, including homes, schools, daycares, and community settings. By meeting children where they are most comfortable and looking at the whole child, therapy becomes more meaningful, functional, and easier to carry over into everyday life.
My approach is child-led, play-based, collaborative, and family-centered. I strive to create therapy experiences that are engaging, collaborative, and tailored to each child's unique strengths, interests, and goals.
When I'm not working with families, I'm spending time with my husband and our two children—a daughter who is 6 and a son who is 4. Being a parent has given me an even greater appreciation for the joys, challenges, and milestones that families experience. I understand how important it is to have a provider who listens, collaborates, advocates, and celebrates progress alongside you.
I founded Confident Communicators Speech Therapy to provide personalized, compassionate care that empowers children and supports families every step of the way. My goal is to help every child find their voice—whatever form that voice may take—and become a confident communicator in all aspects of life.
